Two things:

  • To get a background of the Navratri and Golu please see [Here] & [Here]
  • I have written about our previous years’ Golus [Here], [Here] & [Here]

This year we focussed on a simpler display — I had plans for adding a host of Lego sets, which I own (Millennium Falcon, Imperial Star Destroyer, AT-AT, Titanic, Ferrari Daytona SP3, Bugatti Chiron, Lamborghini Sián FKP, …) — luckily got them before the price increase. … we will see them in the future year Golus !

Back to this year — a quick glimpse:

1 The Main Display

The scaffolding frame is home made — the idols & dolls collected over a period of time. The nut head band on the right bottom is fully made of nuts and bolts — more details [Here]

We have a mix of glass beads, christmas lights et al.

2The Port side

We have the cinematography components — the white Umbrella Diffuser, the Tripod, the Fluid Drag Pan Head, iFoorage Spider Crab Support Rod, Articulating Magic Arm, Camera Mount Clamp with Dual Ball Head, the Quick Release Plates and so forth.

My equipment for stop motion anomation cinematography for Lego buulds, puzzles et al. Haven’t gotten enough momentum yet …

3 The Starboard side

This is where my lego creations would go, eventually. For now, I found a good poster of the Millennium Falcon and did the mounting. Looks interesting. I have to find a way to take the glare out of the shot — haven’t fired up the Final Cut Pro, yet …

4 Bits & Odds — The Finer Details

One important-vital work (expertise by yours truly) is to polish the various silver and brass artifacts. Very delicate task — spanning the selection of the polish, the cloth, the application process, the curation wait time and finally the rub-wash cycle to bring out the shine (nope, no Genie jumped out of the lamps!)

On the port side we have the Lego Taj and our collection of curated paintings (actually prints, yet …) — the order and the paintings have interesting significance — a topic for another blog

Another interesting work is the Kolam drawn with rice powder — Usha has done a good job !
